High-energy tomography
Carburettor – 450 kV – 45 µm
High-energy industrial computed tomography is the right solution for inspecting massive metal parts, battery components, foundry parts, critical welds, multi-material assemblies or aerospace components. It enables 3D non-destructive testing when conventional micro-CT systems reach their limits in penetration, contrast or image quality.

RX Solutions’ Force line of CT systems has been designed to address these industrial challenges: detect internal defects, inspect complex geometries, make conformity decisions more reliable and integrate CT into R&D, quality or production environments.

FORCE Line  When micro-tomography reaches its limits

Detect ever smaller defects, strengthen the traceability of inspections and reduce the risk of non-conformity on critical components: quality control requirements are changing rapidly in aerospace, nuclear, medical, defence and metal additive manufacturing.

Thick parts, absorbing materials, complex assemblies: some applications require more penetration and better image quality to guarantee reliable quality decisions.

Challenges of micro-CT

  • Thick metal parts
  • Multi-material assemblies
  • Critical parts to analyse
  • Conformity inspection

Consequences

  • Invisible defects
  • Significant artefacts
  • Difficult quality decisions
  • Long analysis times
These limitations can lead to more scrap, higher costs of non-quality, longer validation lead times and a loss of confidence in quality control decisions.

The Force line has been designed to address these challenges.

Force line: reliable, fast quality decisions on the most demanding parts

When parts become too dense, too thick or too complex for conventional systems, the real issue is no longer just X-ray penetration. It is about obtaining information reliable enough to decide quickly, reduce quality risks and secure product conformity.

This is precisely why RX Solutions developed the Force line.
Combining high energy up to 450 kV, advanced image quality, intelligent reconstruction and automation capabilities, the Force line helps manufacturers detect more critical defects, reduce non-quality costs and speed up their validation processes.

From the R&D laboratory to the production floor, Force line CT systems provide the performance and flexibility needed to inspect the most demanding parts while delivering traceable, usable data that meets the requirements of modern industry.

  • Detect critical defects earlier.
  • Reduce non-quality costs.
  • Limit the use of destructive testing.
  • Save time on validation cycles.
  • Automate recurring inspections.
  • Produce traceable data for audits.
  • Integrate CT into an existing industrial workflow.

How we adapted the line to meet your requirements

The Force line combines high energy, modularity, advanced reconstruction and industrial integration to deliver usable data on parts that are difficult to penetrate.

Available on the EasyTom L and EasyTom B platforms, it can inspect parts ranging from small technical components to large assemblies of more than a metre. Dual-generator configurations combine a high-energy tube of up to 450 kV with a high-resolution micro-focus generator (down to 4µm) to cover a wide range of applications. The 450 kV tube delivers a resolution of 40 µm.

Multi-generator configurations make it possible to switch from a high-energy inspection to a finer analysis as needed, covering several types of parts with a single CT system.
Multi-generator configurations
Why choose between speed and image quality when you can have both?

The Flat Panel / LineScan combination makes it possible to use the most suitable detector for each application. The Flat Panel favours fast acquisitions and high productivity, while the LineScan offers superior contrast and better control of artefacts on the most difficult parts to inspect.

This flexibility allows quality and production teams to optimise each inspection according to their objectives: reducing inspection times, improving defect detectability and making conformity decisions more reliable. Switching from one detector to the other is instantaneous, without making the system more complex to use.
Speed & image quality
Horus improves reconstructions on metal, multi-material or hard-to-penetrate parts, by reducing artefacts and beam hardening and by improving the homogeneity of the reconstructed volumes.

Advanced Horus reconstruction
The Force line combines a reinforced mechanical architecture with excellent geometric stability to preserve acquisition quality, even when inspecting heavy or highly absorbing parts. This design maintains a high level of tomographic performance while meeting the constraints of the most demanding industrial environments.
The most demanding parts
This module improves the quality of high-energy data without the need for additional hardware parts or scans. It saves a great deal of time by delivering quality image data from fast ConeBeam scans instead of slow scans with a linear detector.
AI scatter correction module
The Force line can rely on features suited to production environments: OPC-UA communication, automation, operator interfaces, standardised workflows and feedback of information to industrial systems. Through the features of the FAB version, we integrate your CT system into your industrial environment.

FAQ: high-energy tomography

What is high-energy industrial tomography?
High-energy industrial tomography is a non-destructive 3D imaging technique used to inspect dense, thick or highly absorbing parts. It makes it possible to visualise the internal structure of metal components, complex assemblies or materials that are difficult to penetrate.
When should you use a 450 kV industrial CT system?
A 450 kV industrial CT system becomes relevant when the part is too dense or too thick to be properly penetrated by a conventional system, or when the image obtained does not allow critical defects to be detected reliably.
Why does resolution remain important in high energy?
Passing through a part is not enough: the image must also be sharp enough to detect the defects you are looking for. The Force line combines penetration and image quality to improve inspection reliability. With the 450 kV high-energy tube, the resolution is 40 µm; dual-generator configurations add a finer micro-focus generator, with less penetration.
Flat Panel or LineScan: which should you choose?
The Flat Panel is suited to fast acquisitions and overall visualisation, while the LineScan is particularly useful for improving contrast and reducing artefacts on very dense or complex parts.
Can Horus improve the inspection of metal parts?
Yes. Horus improves reconstructions on metal parts, multi-material assemblies and highly attenuating components by reducing artefacts and improving the contrast and homogeneity of the reconstructed volumes.
Is it possible to handle heavy parts?
Yes. Our Force line CT systems have a reinforced mechanical architecture for handling heavy loads, while maintaining high geometric stability for high-quality tomography.
Is it possible to run tests in complete confidentiality?
Yes. We work daily with customers whose projects are confidential. We sign NDAs and can adapt our working environment to meet your confidentiality requirements.
Can the Force line be integrated into a production environment?
Yes. Through the FAB Series, the Force line can rely on features suited to industrial environments: OPC-UA communication, automation, operator interfaces, standardised workflows and integration into quality/production flows.
Can performance be validated before purchase?
Yes. It is even recommended for high-energy projects: tests on real parts make it possible to validate penetration, image quality, scan time and defect detectability before investing.
What resolution does the Force line achieve?
With the 450 kV high-energy tube, 40 µm. Dual-generator configurations offer a finer resolution, with less penetration.
